William Smith, PT, ABI, founded A-1 Business & Practice Brokers, Inc. in 2006 when he found that there was a distinct lack of brokers specializing in the sale of Medical, Dental, Veterinary Medicine, Optometry, Chiropractic, Physical Therapy or other clinical areas.

Mr. Smith has been a busy business broker since he joined Sunbelt Business Advisors in the fall of 1999 after downsizing his successful 26 year PT Practice. He purchased the Hudson Valley of New York and Northern New Jersey territory in May 2000, the same day of the closing of one of his listed businesses. Activity and Business Sales continue to grow at a brisk pace, with Mr. Smith closing 10 businesses in 2004 (about 3 times the national average).

Adding Clinical Practices as a super specialty in his business, given his combined business and clinical background, provides clinicians with the unique blend of support and experience they need most.

In addition, he is a member of five Chamber of Commerces, and a founding member of a nationwide practice brokerage network.
